BARB has released the final viewing figures for last year's Christmas special, The Next Doctor. The christmas adventure was watched by an official audience of 13.1 million viewers, making Doctor Who the second most watched programme of the week, just after Wallace and Gromit: A Matter of Loaf and Death, which managed to pull in an audience of 16.15 million.These rating makes The Next Doctor the fifth most watched programme of 2008, beating every single episode of EastEnders and Coronation Street shown throughout the entire year - how great's that! The episode has the 9th highest viewing figure in the show's history.
